Based on an unfussy color scheme, the label uses this to show seasonal changes and depict a woman in bloom. The collection brings a fresh take on floral for warmer weather months by sticking with lush muted tones that not only reflect our climate, but also the seemingly increased chaos in the world at large. The new range has pieces that are both thoughtful and arresting at the same time.
Just in time for summer, Makioba unveils its SS17 mid-season collection–Efflorescence–inspired largely by the Creative Director’s love for flowers.
The collection sees the Makioba Woman revisiting past silhouettes while re-purposing them and evolving towards the future. Here we see chic cocktail dresses, jumpsuits and skirt sets boast interesting details in the form of appliques, pleats, that accentuate a woman’s figure perfectly in a way not usually given to plus-size women. With a collection this smart and sexy, who says floral can’t be groundbreaking in spring?
